About Open Harness

Open Harness is an independent knowledge base about open-source agent harnesses — the runtimes that turn language models into working agents. The space moved from niche to mainstream almost overnight; our job is to keep a layer of verified, practical information on top of it: how to install these tools, what breaks, what they cost to run, and how they compare.

Our current focus is DeepSeek Harness (dsh), starting with a complete guide we keep updated through the preview churn. Coverage of other harnesses and cross-harness comparisons is planned.

Editorial rules

• Every claim is sourced. Facts link to official docs, code, linked community threads, or named press coverage.
• Numbers carry snapshot dates. Stars, prices, and versions change fast; we date them rather than pretend they are stable.
• No invented benchmarks. Vendor numbers are labeled as vendor numbers. When we publish comparisons, they will be reproducible.
